The Epistle of James

Introducing: Elementary My Dear, What’s in the Epistle of James

The Epistle of James can be a mini guide to Christian Living. It reveals tremendous wisdom and explains how to apply the text in everyday living. From the introduction to the 21st day, you will be challenged with assignments designed to transform your life into a more Christ-like person. You will quickly discover that when you receive Jesus Christ, you become possessed by Him through the Holy Spirit. The Holy Spirit actually takes up residence in you. Think about that, “Possessed by God.” As mind-boggling as that is, you also become a servant of Jesus.

James, the half-brother of Jesus and a leader in the Jerusalem Church, does not mention his earthly titles but clearly describes himself in his eternal role as a Servant of the Lord Jesus. This is in the first two verses of James’ letter. Friend, if you accept your servant role and begin to follow the teachings of James obeying the promptings of the Holy Spirit, you will be living a fruitful life. Your life will be filled with faith and good works. That kind of life combines the grace of God that saves you with your Spirit-led desire to serve Him. As you report for duty every day, your life will become very involved in what God wants you to do, and that, my friend, is significant.

Enjoy the Book, my Friend,
